Zoom needs no introduction when it comes to making video calls. Large organizations and companies are switching to digital meetings and conferences over Zoom and many of them are still resorting to Skype or Google Hangouts. While Zoom is the hot property right now, it only seems wise to learn some Zoom keyboard shortcuts to speed up your progress.

Zoom went from 10 million last December to 200 million in just four months. It's been the default choice for many to conduct large hassle-free meetings. Of course, Zoom's wildfire popularity has also raised concerns regarding security and privacy of data shared through video calls.

There are many reasons for the software's sky-rocketing popularity. Zoom offers easy to use interface, quick-join function, virtual background, screen sharing, screen recording, and more. The app offers a bunch of keyboard shortcuts to fly through the settings and options.

In this post, we are going to talk about eleven (11) best Zoom keyboard shortcuts for Windows PC and Mac. Let's get started.

In the Zoom sharing dialog, go to the Advanced tab and select the Portion of a Screen option. You will see a green rectangle on your screen. Use the vertical dividing line in Presenter View to make the size of the current slide larger. Use the sizing handles on the green Zoom sharing rectangle so that it only shows the current slide. Click the checkbox next to zoom.us and/or Zoom Rooms. Note: For Local Recording on Catalina, you need to click the checkbox for at least the Documents Folder option under zoom.us. 1. Join Meeting

2. Invite Someone

During a call, you might want to invite someone for the ongoing meeting. Instead of tapping on small buttons, you can just use the keyboard shortcut to invite the participants to the call. For hosts, handling hundreds of participants can be confusing. Especially at times when the attendees are raising hands to explain things. Hosts can use the Alt + M keyboard shortcut or Control + Command + M on macOS to mute everyone else at the meeting.

9. Pause/Resume Meeting Recording

Do you know you can record the entire meeting on the device using Zoom? While it's a good function to have, you won't want to record everything. Attendees may want to record certain parts of meetings. You can use the Alt + P on Windows or Shift ⇧ + Command + P keyboard shortcut on macOS to pause or resume the meeting recording. 10. End Meeting

You can use Presenter View in PowerPoint to present in Zoom even if you only have one screen. It uses a feature that was introduced in PowerPoint a few years ago called Presenter View preview and may only be available in modern versions of PowerPoint. This allows you to see what Presenter View looks like even though you only have one screen. This method also uses a feature of Zoom that shares a portion of your screen instead of the full screen. Here's how you do this in a Zoom meeting.

Set up your presentation for Presenter View

Make sure that the presentation is set to display in the default of full screen Slide Show. On the Slide Show ribbon, click on the Set Up Slide Show button. Animal crossing used. In the dialog box, make sure the Show type is set to 'Presented by a speaker (full screen)'.

Start Presenter View Preview

In PowerPoint, press Option+Return to start Presenter View preview at the current slide. You will see Presenter View on your screen with the slide, your notes, what the next slide/build will be, and a filmstrip of slides at the bottom of the screen.

Presenter View takes up the whole screen, so you will not see the controls for your Zoom meeting. If you want your notes to be in a larger font, use the font controls at the bottom of the Notes section to make the text bigger.

Share a portion of the screen in Zoom

To return to the Zoom meeting controls, press Command+Tab to move through the open apps to select the Zoom meeting app.

In the Zoom sharing dialog, go to the Advanced tab and select the Portion of a Screen option.

When you are done the presentation, stop sharing the portion of your screen in Zoom.
